Sub Focus - Tidal Wave ft. Alpines

Alpines have become some sort of a staple in most of my playlists lately, they seem to be rolling out (great) singles and videos like they're I don't even know what.

This time they collaborated with Sub Focus on a really really great track and a very fitting video (below)!

Now, if this was released a bit earlied than November 4th, I'd be able to include it in my first set/attempt as a music "server" next week at Library.

annakoumoushi Fall-Winter 2012-13 teaser

It's that time of the year again: The annakoumoushi time. Miss Pantopoli is the ak-face once again, but this time we went for an on location shoot at Library and a different feel. The new shoot/campaign mirrors the multifacetedness of the new annakoumoushi collection and Anna's infatuation with introducing new shapes and forms via her pieces.

Chicago 2012

Part of a Chicago-based mini-project.

And yes, about two weeks after my return from the states and I am yet to put together a Chicago post.

So here it goes. I could be writing for days about everything I have accumulated over this trip, all the decision-making and "a-ha!" moments I've had, but most importantly the new feeling of restlessness I'm left with after my return. I'll stick to just saying that changes are on the way. (on this blog too, by the way)

Now, as far as Chicago is concerned: "It was great being back." doesn't quite cover it. I had the chance to take in a lot (perhaps more than I anticipated in just a one-week stay), I spent some quality time with people I had missed for far too long and had the time to really plan, plot and reassess. One thing's for certain: I won't wait another seven years to go back.

NYC 2012

The last time I was in New York, or any place in the States for that matter, was almost seven years ago, so my memories of going through the immigration process were a bit distorted...

Unlike the above, my memories of New York being gloriously busy and inspiring were spot on.

I'm not going to post a journal post here, I'm far from being able to externalize the decisions I took and the clarifications that took place in my head from this trip; but I will say that it was a much needed reboot, which is still in the process and which made many things clear(er).

I always liked telling stories with pictures, so here you go: a mini slideshow.

Chairlift - I Belong In Your Arms (Japanese Version)

Naturally, I would be attracted to this.

The Brooklynite band Charilift released a video to their track "I Belong In Your Arms" but the japanese version, which -of course- I like better than the original version. I find the low-fi whateverness of the video to be quite entertaining as well.

Gucci Premiere

I'm not really familiar with Blake Lively, I don't even think I've seen her in anything to be precise. But this is more than enough for me. The TVC for Cucci Premiere was shot by director Nicolas Winding Refn and features one of my favorite remixes of M83's Midnight City (Eric Prydz Private Remix). I really like the locations and the serene feel of the whole clip.

I Think...

I bumped on this around the webs, I don't know where this is from, who made this and if it's from a project of some sort, but I absolutely agree: We should just enjoy life. (Any info would be amazing.)

I had mentioned Kyary Pamyu Pamyu a few weeks back and though I'm not entirely in love with all of the songs on her latest album I am totally enchanted by her.

Post Update:
I managed to find the full quote but I'm sure there's a video out there

"I think we should just enjoy life. I think we should wear whatever we think looks nice, and wear it with confidence. That will put you in a better mood, and I think that will lead to a abundant society."

Find Your Greatness

I've watched this more than ten times today and it gets me every time.

"Greatness isn't reserved for the chosen few in one special city, it can also be found in London, Ohio, and London, Norway, and East London, South Africa, and Little London, Jamaica, and Small London, Nigeria and the London Hotel and London Road and anywhere else someone is trying to find it."

I guess it's true: "Greatness IS wherever somebody tries to find it"
