annakoumoushi Fall-Winter 2012-13 teaser

It's that time of the year again: The annakoumoushi time. Miss Pantopoli is the ak-face once again, but this time we went for an on location shoot at Library and a different feel. The new shoot/campaign mirrors the multifacetedness of the new annakoumoushi collection and Anna's infatuation with introducing new shapes and forms via her pieces.

Though we posted this project around the interwebs a while back, I am officially re-announcing it here too. 

For this project we went on a more… colorful direction and Ioanna, the new happy face of annakoumoushi, was a great model.

"The Inside Job" for Avant Garde

And while we're at it: the April Avant Garde Issue, marks the 2-year anniversary of AG. The topic for this issue, irrelevantly enough with the 2nd birthday, focuses on Pornography from many points of view. I was thrilled to shoot the fashion editorial for this issue, which was styled by Margarita Papatheodoulou, and we aimed for a trash-porn 80s inspired theme. Despite some people reacting to the topic and even reading it as vulgar, we feel that our trash porn task was fulfilled. So there. The Weather Is Beautiful...

Over the past few weeks, I've been crazy busy working -among a myriad of other things- on one of the publications I'm art directing under the umbrella of IPWT. It's an English-Russian publication based here in Cyprus and this time around (the 4th Issue, to be precise) Status Magazine, focused on the various aspects and faces of spring. 

The above composition is what will adorn the cover of this issue. Despite my feelings towards the blatantly banal topic of flowers, my latest "friction" with the concept of floral prints and patterns made the creation of the above kaleidoscope-oid illustration a great experimentation with flower forms.

Despite the fact that this project was shot last year, I just managed to finish it a few weeks ago and uploaded it today. The full project lives here.

annakoumoushi Fall/Winter 2011-2012

This past summer I started working with Anna Koumoushi again, for her Fall/Winter campaign & her brand website. After a great couple of months and an endless series of emails always starting with something in the context of "I was thinking..." or "What if we did this.." and some of the most constructive meetings I've ever had, we came to completing the campaign and launching the annakoumoushi website.

Anna's work derives from raw emotions and simple ideas, resulting in a solid, unadulterated, uncompromised and genuine result. I guess, that's why I clicked with Anna and am able to work so well with her, we share that common conceptual and visual path, I mentioned a while back. The full project lives here.

Imageournal, A Wordless Image Journal

Along with my other ongoing projects these past few months, I managed to create a humble "home" for all my random, mainly iPhone generated, photography. 

Imageournal, (Image+Journal), is a little showcase of what I see throughout the day, and given that a SLR camera, or a point & shoot for that matter, is kinda hard to carry around I shoot with what I have on me, my iPhone. Not all images are shot with the 5MP iPhone 4 camera, but the majority of them are and I am still amazed by how good the colors come out. 

Most of the images will be available as limited edition prints of five per photograph. (More info coming soon and at Imageournal)

Androniki 2011

Androniki is the brand name of Androniki Yeratziotou's jewelry line consisting of pieces made from wood, plastic and foil-covered acrylic. We recently worked together on a promo-shoot for Androniki, which will go online with the launch of their website, and on the IPWT website as well, as soon as it's completed.

No, this time I actually didn't fall into the pit of blog-restricting procrastination. I was actually CSS-wrestling with the new website to get it to where I wanted it to be. I set this up in Cargo Collective but had to go and alter a zillion of pieces of code (lots and lots of trial&error went on here) but it's a process I forgot I liked so much. 

Projects are being added as they happen and I'm still putting together some more work to put on in the next few weeks. Feel free to stop by and say hi.

Project Updates

These past few days I've been keeping super busy working on adding some projects to my website. The IPWT shoot, some illustrations for Business & Life, some more additions in the illustration section and some branding samples are some of the additions.
