H2O11

I'm definitely not the person whose photo sits next to the word "Workaholic" in dictionaries. However, I do put a lot of time on client's projects -often at quite unorthodox hours- and do stress over deadlines. But what additionally keeps the cogs in my head turn nonstop are the little (and not so little) side-projects I plot, draft and mold until I feel they're really meant to happen. In need of some time-off and to escape the fact that I started shifting into a "mental hyperventilation" mode, I took a couple of days off and spent them with THE bunch of friends out of town.
Apart from swimming, cooking and eating nonstop, we had some productive fun too. Thanks to Myria's underwater camera, Maggie's underwater styling efforts and Andria's breath-holding abilities we (drank some of the pool and) made a couple of fun shots.
I also had a chance to try some of the awesome Tattly tattoos I had received a couple of days before. (FYI: Instagram was the gang's gadget fetish this summer, thus the snaps.)

Oh Land - White Nights

Oh Land, a reoccurrence on Memrants as of today, just released her new gorgeous video for White Nights! Produced by CANADA, White Night is packed with all sorts of elaborate imagery from different, awesomely dreamy visual spectrums. And you can definitely tell that Oh Land is a trained and skillful dancer.
Oh Land is love!

Rodarte X Opening Ceremony

Rodarte have collaborated with Opening Ceremony, once again, for the creation of a confessedly impressive line. (Say hello to gorgeous elaborate prints!)
In order to see the pictures of the to-be-released new line you have to "Like" the Rodarte Facebook page. (Say hello to social-media marketing gimmicks!)

Fauxgo

I was wondering when someone would go and put together all the imaginary logos featured in movies make a list or blog! Kudos to Tymn Armstrong for putting Fauxgo together. It's fun to revisit the past via design (hello "Back to the Future" and "Ghostbusters")!
I always loved the way people back in the 80s imagined and delivered the future in futuristic movies, and the logo from "Robocop" is a fine example. (Now throw in a couple of logos from Total Recall and we'll be best friends!)

Hard Graft Phone Fold Wallet

© Hard Graft
I remember when Hard Graft first started. Back then they were named Working Class Heroes (I really love that name) and I was drooling over one of their unfold bags. I still am drooling over their handmade bags but I was excited to discover their Phone Fold Wallet a few months back.
Well, this week I finally ordered one and got is just a couple of days later. Their tagline very simply states: "You lose what you don't hold" and I know my iPhone would definitely be lost (for good) if I kept dropping it.
Now, I am seriously lusting over (and need to start saving for) their 2Unfold Laptop Bag, while I am impressed by the engineering in their design for the 3Fold Multi-Use Bag.

Day One

Day One kinda caught my eye the first time I saw it in the app store. It essentially is an app which helps you log stuff in a journal, with specific date and timestamps. However, I wasn't quite sold on the idea of bying an app which would do what I would be able to do by logging stuff in a note and saving that between my Mac and iPhone. After some contemplating I decided to get both the Mac ($9.99) and the iPhone apps ($1.99) which sync seamlessly via Dropbox (and with the arrival of Apple's iCloud I am almost certain they'll integrate that somewhere in there too).
I am using Day One quite a lot these past few days and it's just great how amazingly it does what it says it's designed to do. Actually, I don't necessarily use it to record what happens throughout my day -I'm not sure I'd want to see all that in the future- I use if to document the unexpected flashes of inspiration, ideas, images popping in my head and sparks of thoughts that could lead to something. The thing is; I usually get all the above when I'm in the car and I either have to pull over and write it in or try to type it while driving (not recommended). There's password protection for both apps and adding bits to the journal flow is easy and it sort of gives me that feeling that I am actually vaulting all these thoughts there to use them when the time comes, and it looks good too! So, those $12, were well-spent after all...

Inspiration Booster: Tycho - Hours

In search of inspiration "steroids" I was very excited to find that Tycho, which I must have mentioned on here before, released a new single titled "Hours". Just as I expected -and as it happened with last year's "Coastal Brake"- I am addicted to it's pure marvel! I don't think anyone will mind me playing this during this coming weekend's shoot. Nonstop. Enjoy and catch it for free here.
