Coca Cola + Daft Punk

I just love collaborations, especially when these occur between different genres and disciplines.

So, Coca Cola worked with Daft Punk on the design of these new Coke bottles. The silver and gold mimic the colors of the helmets donned by the electro duo. So it's been a busy period for Daft Punk: the collaboration with Disney on the soundtrack of Tron Legacy, now another super-high profile collaboration with Coca Cola, who's next? Hello? Nike, Adidas are you listening? (That would be awesome actually!)

The bottles will start rolling out in March 2011. They will be released in clubs around the world and will be exclusively available at Colette Paris as a collectible box set

Blogger's Jam

These past few days I've been brainstorming (mainly with myself, others were involved at certain points too) a bit too much. So, many ideas and concepts accumulated in my head and everything is sort of jammed at the end of the nozzle. I will manage to sort everything out in a bit and will be right back...

Creating can become very... overwhelming at times.

114 Photoshop Files Form the Alphabet

Talk about patience...  Emilio Gomariz made this video of the alphabet by carefully placing 149 Photoshop files on his screen. He then minimized all windows and captured his screen while maximizing file after file to form the alphabet.

So, that's what people do when they have spare time, and infinite amounts of patience...

Live The Language

As a person who lived for a while in a foreign country and had to use a new language to survive, I was immediately drawn to these promo videos for Education First (EF). I am referring to my time in Italy, not the States. Adjusting to the States when I went there was not as hard, compared to the terror I experienced in Milan and the severe linguistic barriers I had to overcome as soon as possible.

Gustav Johansson was commissioned to direct these gorgeous videos for EF. Live The Language is a series of four videos focusing on London, Paris, Barcelona and Beijing which depict the magic of the first encounter with a new place and a totally new language.

The kinetic typography and the beyond-words-amazing usage of brilliant typefaces, by Albin Holqvist, make these videos love-at-first-sight material for any typography-sensitive (or plain sensitive) person out there.

Silva/Bradshaw Jewelry

Though I'm not a huge fan of jewelry, I am more than intrigued to get me a ring from these guys! I've seen these rings flying around the internets for some time now and they seem to enchant me a bit more every time.

Designers Matthew Bradshaw and Sergio Silva combined their forces to create a minimal jewelry line, which can be purchased here. Using words such as unique and trendy when trying to describe their pieces would simply throw me to the pitt of clichés. Can I at least call their work "refreshing"?

The Force

So we're in the after-superbowl fever, with all the ranting and raving about the best Superbowl ad, the best act and the best anthem botching etc..

Though I really really loved the Glee-powered Chevrolet ad and all the warm feelings it triggered (and those gorgeous Chevys), I found that the Volkswagen The Force ad takes the prize! I crack-up every time I see this!

Missoni/Prada S/S11 Campaigns

It's that awesome time of the year again... Despite the freezing cold and the utter weirdness of our globally-warmed planet's weather we are being bombarded with bright-colored, piña colada-remeniscent, super summery campaigns.

Is it me, or are the (early-80s-influenced) mid-90s making a steroid-powered comeback this season? I mean, ultra bright colors, coexisting with thick black outlines and stripes, infused with a densely african feel. Call me crazy, but Missoni wakes all my Benetton glory memories from the 90s! Call me crazy II, but I like where Prada is going this season.

Missoni SS11

Directed by Mel Bles; this ad features -among others- Leighton Meester, Eugenie Niarchos, Margherita Missoni and other Misson-ians.

Prada SS11

Directed by Steven Meisel, featuring Arizona Muse, Kinga Rajzak, Zuzanna Bijoch, Mariacarla Boscono and Tati Cotliar. I really like the soundtrack Mirando by Ratatat.

Project Updates

These past few days I've been keeping super busy working on adding some projects to my website. The IPWT shoot, some illustrations for Business & Life, some more additions in the illustration section and some branding samples are some of the additions.

The Evolution of "Man"

Does anyone know who should be credited with this? This made my day.

Thanks Djani. (Go get a blog, will ya?)
