Creative Weekend

The previously mentioned annakoumoushi project was realized this weekend! Did some location hunting, to find the wall I wanted plus a quiet beach, and we went along and did the photoshoot today! I just love creative weekends!

I will upload the full project on my website as soon as it's completely finished.

Cadbury Flake Ad

So that's how the feeling of eating a Cadbury Flake translates to the visual world!

Hat's off to the director, Baillie Walsh, for creating this amazing, (the word amazing, however, does not do this clip full justice) advertising campaign for Cadbury Flake (premiered on Channel 4 in the UK on June 8th).

Walsh used the Kate Moss Hologram he created for Alexander McQueen's AW06 show (which is equally, if not more, impressive) as a starting point. Antony Price designed the yellow dress (which was made from 200 meters (218 yards) of fabric) Yulia Lobova wears in the ad.

To be honest, whenever I think of Cadbury's Flake, I think of the 80s, cone ice creams with a flake sticking out, the retro purple wrapper from the 80s and other food-related memories from my sugar-infested childhood. So, this new visual interpretation of chocolate, which was much needed by Cadbury since their previous ads were pretty close to crap, is more than welcome and hopefully the first of many.

"FaceTime" by Sam Mendes

Apple commissioned Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road, Jarhead) to direct the new iPhone 4, FaceTime advertisement.

They so knew what they (Apple & Mendes) were doing with this ad. Spot On!

Now, can someone get me an iPhone 4, the iPad can always wait...

The User Interface Future is Here

I am, to put it plainly, blown away!

During a research routine for a text I am writing on Augmented Reality, I bumped on this awesome video on one of my favorite blogs. Not directly relevant with AR but roughly in the same neighborhood.

I mean we've seen this before, yeah: in movies. Now, it's a tangible concept, an actual operating system which, if I may say, redefines the meaning of the term interactive.

I know it might sound stupid, but I'm going to go ahead and say it:
Imagine the effects/benefits this form of interactivity; people will sort of, hopefully, become a bit more physically involved. So the interactivity course started from writing and went to typing, then clicking, then touching and now nodding!

"Thank you for making science fiction real" does not even begin to describe it.

ALPA of Switzerland

Apparently, the Swiss know how to do everything very well, and from what it seems; custom-made cameras with the many combination options allowing the avid, and very rich, photographers to be able to shoot pictures in up to 60 Megapixels!

I bumped on this the other day in the internets and I was wondering what it'd be like carrying around a 60 MP "gun" like this, but more importantly, what sort of a scorching hole would one of these make to my pocket/bank account.

I guess, for the time being, both of the above questions will remain unanswered, but still, one has the right to dream don't they?

iPad + Velcro = ♥

I don't know if I'd put my (yet to be purchased) iPad on all possible surfaces, but this is an excellent (and risky) idea!
