Madonna For Dolce & Gabbana

Madonna is the face of the new Dolce & Gabbana ads, shot by Steven Klein. The images above are featured, exclusively, for the first time in the Italian Vanity Fair Edition. It's good to see that she looks more... real in this campaign, compared to the Louis Vuitton campaign from last summer. I like the naturalness and maturity Madonna (finally) carries in these photographs, and it was about time she did an age-appropriate... anything. And while we're on the "age-appropriate" subject; why do I smell that she'll snatch her some LadyGaga for her next record? It's her pattern...

An Apple A Day Calendar

Ok, first of all, it's calendar, and never calender... (I just get annoyed when I see that mistake).

This gorgeous letterpress calendar wants to keep you healthy; it encourages you to eat an apple a day, and use the stickers on it to mark the days gone on the calendar.

You can get one here.

Night By Night - Chromeo

The 80s are back, and apparently (and thank goodness), I am not the only one who's excited.

I was introduced to Chromeo back in 2006 through a project by Absolut Vodka: Absolut Kravitz. A few months back I came across another Chromeo track; Bonafied Lovin' in a great remix by Les Petit Pilous.

Now, the Montreal-based duo delivers this 80s reminiscent track, (Flashdance/Fame/Electro mashup), and an excellent video directed by Surface To Air, and shot in a warehouse in Brooklyn. (You gotta love the 80s synthesizers...)

TeuxDeux

TeuxDeux (pronounced "to do" duh...) is an awesome and brilliantly named, if I may say, web browser-based application designed by Tina Roth Eisenberg A.K.A. SwissMiss and developed by Fictive Kin. What TeuxDeux basically does is allowing you to list the things you need/have to do in a day (or sometime in the near or distant future) in an absolutely "ordinated", yet flexible and perfectly simple manner. You can move things around, mark them as done and delete them.

Already loving it. Now if they throw in an iPhone app and/or a Mac application they should be heading towards an innovation Nobel Prize... at least in the designers/creatives parallel realm, for redefining the term "To Do".

Outlier Pivot Shirt

I like shirts, I really do, and I've also been told that they look good on me. There are a couple of things, though, that keep me from wearing them more than once or twice every two months, and that's just when I really need to, due to an obligation or event: 1. The fabric of dress-shirts makes me feel... uncomfortable (apparently it just doesn't sit well with my skin), and 2. The fact that no matter what size I get them in, (mind you, I'm a tall guy), they always feel like they're pulling, and stretched, until they're untucked from my pants and my whole look gets messed up and well... messy!

So, given the aforementioned facts, imagine my excitement when I came across these today on CoolHunting. Apparently these great looking shirts by Outlier are designed to allow more flexibility. At least much more from what the expected target group of the dress-shirt wearers (bank clerks, lawyers, accountants, oh and Diane Keaton) would need it to allow. And trust me, I need that extra flexibility "real estate", I do move a lot. However, the price tag ($120 excl. shipping & handling) does feel kinda heavy for someone who would want to buy more than two of these... (Excitement killer here) (via)

Accidental Constellations

Who said grids aren't sexy? Accidentally created while trying to finish a layout in InDesign.

PhoneBook

The nephew would just love this! (right before trying to rip my iPhone out of the book)

I can't say much about this great concept, given that these guys' website is all in japanese... but I'd like to know a tad more.

I'll Be Gone

“I’ll be Gone” is a song by Mario Basanov & Vidis feat. Jazzu. I was attracted to this mainly because of the video, but the song is very good too... (The video seems a tad too CGI-y at moments, but a great concept nonetheless) Directed by Rimantas Lukavicius
