Missoni F/W 10-11 By Kenneth Anger

One would think that the video below was created by a young and upcoming director/video artist? Yeah, think again, because this short video which is also the Missoni Fall/Winter 2010-2011 advertisement was directed by Kenneth Anger who was born in 1927!

The 83 year-old experimental filmmaker, author and actor, who made his first short film at the tender age of 10, made this eery short film/advertisement for Missoni. I personally find the imagery in this film very reminiscent of previous decades, and I mean in a GOOD way. I guess his age (and experience and the fact that he lived all the trends of the previous decades) is what renders Anger capable of adequately reintroducing these retro-infused visuals in such a today-looking film. The soundtrack comes to complement the overall eeriness of the video!
