#fw | Fall/Winter 11

Superimposed photos from: Rodarte, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Viktor & Rolf | A.Ps.

This past month was a hectic month "embroidered" with fashion; the New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks, unexpected fashion scandals: "Dior vs Galliano" / "Galliano vs the world", the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards and the Oscars.

Truth be told, the awards are not just about the movies/actors/directors and special effect crews anymore. They're also about who wears what, and about the aftermath of the designers' drag race to the carpets. It's interesting to see which designers were adequate enough to penetrate and enter the red carpet realm every year.

Thanks to Twitter (and #nyfw, #lfw, #mfw #pfw hashtags) I got to see more regarding the fashion weeks, than I would probably be able to see should I actually have been there.

Anywho, I am not a fashion correspondent writing about fashion shows and whose line was the "best-est"; I am just fascinated by how resourceful designers can be (and by how surprisingly tasteless others can be). I am not going to review anything specific, or go all fashion savvy and use fancy fashion terms (I don't really know any anyway). I will just stick to saying that Rodarte was a refreshing surprise. While, expectedly, Marc Jacobs turned everything he touched into gold once again this season (quite literally at instances).

What follows may not have been in any of the fashion week shows but I was surely happy to come across these awesome designs by NY-based Setareh Mohtarez, while blog-surfing. Mohtarez creations are distinguished by beautiful structures and amazing prints which coexist and merge in an imposingly impressive manner. I have a feeling we will be seeing more of these in the future...
